When the vehicle body only moves vertically, and the deformation of both sides of the suspension is equal, the anti-roll bar does not engage. However, when the vehicle body tilts due to road conditions, causing unequal suspension deformation on both sides, one side of the chassis moves closer to the spring seat, and that end of the anti-roll bar moves upward relative to the chassis, while the other side of the chassis moves away from the spring seat, and the corresponding end of the anti-roll bar moves downward relative to the chassis.
It should be noted that when the vehicle body and chassis tilt, the central part of the anti-roll bar does not experience relative movement. In this situation, both ends of the anti-roll bar deflect in different directions, causing it to twist. The torsional internal moment generated by the anti-roll bar impedes the deformation of the suspension springs, thereby reducing body roll and lateral angular vibration. Therefore, the anti-roll bar plays a very important role in the vehicle body.
