The ECU collects signals from the engine speed sensor, vehicle speed sensor, and other sources to understand the vehicle's real-time driving status. Based on these signals, the ECU, following stored optimal programs, best shift patterns, clutch fuzzy control models, and adaptive engine fuel supply regulation, optimally matches the actions and timing of engine fuel supply, clutch engagement and disengagement, and transmission shifting. This achieves excellent fuel economy, power performance, smooth starts, and rapid shifting capabilities, meeting the driver's expectations. 

The shifting principle of AMT transmissions is similar to that of straight-cut gearboxes, with the main difference being that shifting only requires a simple push or pull of the gear lever. This design not only speeds up shifting but also significantly reduces the possibility of incorrect shifts (in races, the consequence of an incorrect shift is often engine failure due to over-revving). Therefore, both straight-cut gearboxes and AMT transmissions are somewhat beneficial for professional races where every second counts. However, AMT transmissions are not without their flaws. Their biggest drawbacks are poor shifting comfort and power interruption during shifts, which affects ultimate shifting performance.
