Metallic paint is characterized by the incorporation of metallic flakes, which makes the painted body panel surface appear more dazzling. Furthermore, due to light refraction, its color and contours will change when viewed from different angles. In addition, the metallic components in metallic paint can increase the hardness of the paint, making the paint surface harder, more wear-resistant, and less prone to scratches.
However, this also means that metallic paint is more expensive than solid paint. Although 'solid paints' in colors such as white, black, bright red, and yellow can also have metallic flakes added, doing so would alter their original color and yield unsatisfactory results. Therefore, some vehicles still opt for solid paint. It should be noted that some mid-to-high-end cars do not come standard with metallic paint, requiring it to be selected as an option later.
