The anti-roll bar is a torsion bar spring made of spring steel, U-shaped, and horizontally positioned at the front and rear of the vehicle.
The middle of the bar is connected to the frame via bushings, and its two ends are fixed to the left and right suspensions, respectively. When the vehicle body only moves vertically, both sides of the suspension deform identically, and the anti-roll bar does not function. However, when the vehicle body rolls, the left and right suspensions move inconsistently, causing the anti-roll bar to twist. The elastic force of the bar then acts as a resistance to further roll, thereby providing lateral stability. To ensure body stability, automotive manufacturers typically use anti-roll bars to enhance vehicle stability.
