Clutches can be classified into electromagnetic clutches, magnetic powder clutches, friction clutches, and hydraulic clutches.
Electromagnetic clutches operate by controlling the engagement and disengagement of the clutch through the energization and de-energization of a coil. They can be further divided into dry single-plate electromagnetic clutches, dry multi-plate electromagnetic clutches, and wet multi-plate electromagnetic clutches. Magnetic powder clutches, on the other hand, operate by placing magnetic powder between the driving and driven components; when energized, the magnetic powder binds, allowing torque to be adjusted by regulating the current. Hydraulic clutches are cooled by oil or other coolants. Friction clutches consist of a driving part, a driven part, a pressure mechanism, and an operating mechanism.
