Advantages and Disadvantages of Solid Axle Suspension

The advantages of solid axle suspension include strong load-bearing capacity, suitability for off-road and harsh environments, and ease of maintenance and modification. However, when driving on paved roads, the bounce of one wheel affects the other, leading to average on-road performance and comfort. Consequently, some mid-to-high-end SUV models have begun to gradually abandon solid axle suspension in favor of multi-link or other suspension types to enhance comfort and performance.
