About Iveco

The Iveco Commercial Vehicle Group was jointly established in 1975 by five companies from Italy, France, and Germany: Fiat Industrial Vehicles, Officine Meccaniche (Italy), Lancia Veicoli Speciali (Italy), Unic (France), and Magirus (Germany). It was a joint venture for producing trucks, buses, and diesel engines, and was part of the Fiat Group. After years of development, Iveco became the leader in the medium commercial vehicle and engine markets, and second in the passenger vehicle market. The Iveco referred to domestically is Nanjing Iveco Automobile Co., Ltd., a Sino-Italian government cooperation project. Nanjing Iveco Automobile Co., Ltd. was established on December 26, 1995, and officially commenced operations on March 1, 1996. It is a Sino-foreign joint venture co-funded by China's Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of SAIC Motor) and Italy's Fiat Group Iveco. Its registered capital is CNY 2.527 billion, with each joint venture partner holding a 50% stake.
