About Isuzu

Isuzu (Isuzu Jidōsha Kabushiki Kaisha) is a Japanese automobile manufacturing company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. It integrates manufacturing and assembly, with plants in Fujisawa City, Tochigi Prefecture, and Hokkaido, Japan, and is renowned for producing commercial vehicles and diesel internal combustion engines. In Showa 9 (1934), the company began mass production of automobiles based on the standard model of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (now the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry). The brand name 'Isuzu' was derived from the Isuzu River near Ise Grand Shrine. After the brand name and company name were unified in Showa 24 (1949), the company has continued to use 'Isuzu Jidōsha Kabushiki Kaisha' as its corporate name to this day. The company's logo, symbolizing its future international development, was modernized using the Roman letters 'ISUZU' to become its current emblem.
