Established on January 8, 1997, and headquartered in Wuhu, Anhui Province, with Yin Tongyue currently serving as Chairman and General Manager. The company's products cover passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, mini-vehicles, and other segments. In August 2016, Chery ranked 450th in the '2016 China Top 500 Enterprises'. In 2019, Chery ranked 90th on the 'Belt and Road' Top 100 Chinese Enterprises list. In 2020, it ranked first in Anhui Province's Top 100 Invention Patents list. Chery Group currently owns four major brands: Chery, Jetour, Exeed, and iCAR. On March 4, 2024, Chery Group's four major brands—Chery, Exeed, Jetour, and iCAR—jointly announced a lifetime warranty for all new and used vehicles across their entire model range, becoming the industry's first and only automotive enterprise to offer a lifetime warranty for all new and used vehicles across all its brands and model ranges.
